Technical Data Service Herrlich GmbH (TDS Herrlich GmbH) was founded by the employees of the department "Fact Databases" of the Deutsche Kunststoff - Institut in 1996. Software developement, data preparation, data updating, sale and order settlement are done by order of the Deutsche Kunststoff - Institut.

Since 1998 TDS Herrlich GmbH has taken care of the sale and the order settlement for the literature database products.

At the beginning of 1999 a cooperation agreement for databases has been concluded with the Fachinformationszentrum Chemie GmbH.

In September the Fachinformationszentrum Karlsruhe assigned TDS Herrlich GmbH to be the sales representative for STN - online database serving the Federal States Hessia, Bavaria and Baden - Württemberg. STN International (The Scientific and Technical Information Network) is the biggest database group on the technical - scientific field worldwide.

In addition to the developement of products for the cooperation partners, TDS Herrlich develops its own software and database products. Starting in the year 2000 numerous databases with a freshly developed software are to start their operation in the Internet. TDS is well - known to have written and published technical articles, books as well as lectures.

A cooperation agreement also exists between TDS Herrlich GmbH and Internet - Technologies und Informationsverarbeitung (IT & I GmbH) for developing software. IT & I GmbH develops database products as required by TDS Herrlich GmbH, its customers and its cooperation partners.
